Program Philosophy

This is a recreational level program and is designed to allow all players to participate and develop in a positive, low-pressure environment.

Primary goal - provide players with a safe environment to enjoy soccer and grow as a player and a person.

Coaching goal - improve players' skills and develop a greater excitement for the game of soccer.  Help each player develop and display the characteristics of a good citizen and sportsman.

Principle for achieving goals

  • soccer is a player's game - coaches and parents are only to help the players enjoy playing more
  • respect for the referee - no abuse, in word or mannerism
  • respect for the opponent - fair-play must be demanded and observed by all players, coaches and parents.

Equipment

  • shin guards are mandatory for games and practice
  • players should bring and drink water at practice and games
  • ball - all players peewee and older should have a proper size ball, with bantam and micros encouraged to have a proper size ball
  • cups and mouth guards are optional, but should be encouraged.

Injuries must be documented on injury report sheets.  Also, coaches should request to be notified of any injuries a player may have, soccer related or not.
