Program Philosophy
This is a recreational level program and is designed to allow all
players to participate and develop in a positive, low-pressure environment.
Primary goal - provide players with a safe environment to enjoy
soccer and grow as a player and a person.
Coaching goal - improve players' skills and develop a greater
excitement for the game of soccer. Help each player develop and display the
characteristics of a good citizen and sportsman.
Principle for achieving goals
- soccer is a player's game - coaches and parents are only to help the
players enjoy playing more
- respect for the referee - no abuse, in word or mannerism
- respect for the opponent - fair-play must be demanded and observed by
all players, coaches and parents.
Equipment
- shin guards are mandatory for games and practice
- players should bring and drink water at practice and games
- ball - all players peewee and older should have a proper size ball,
with bantam and micros encouraged to have a proper size ball
- cups and mouth guards are optional, but should be encouraged.
Injuries must be documented on injury report sheets. Also,
coaches should request to be notified of any injuries a player may have, soccer related or
not.
